“I’ve been thinking a lot about female friendships and the particular ability women have to provide mothering care to one another, often in very subtle or unexpected ways. It’s something I’ve increasingly noticed as I get older, these moments of genuine nurturing and care and wisdom-sharing (and howling laughter) amongst sisters & friends in a way that really feeds the soul, and how much of a massive blessing it is to experience, so I wanted to paint something to honour that.”
